This blog is hosted by Google (Do no harm!) so I used them to look for definitions of Big I.
Here are a few that I found, with the corresponding sources:
- (im-po-tense) not being able to have or keep an erection of the penis (www.mesothelioma-line.com/articles/glossary/)
- powerlessness: the quality of lacking strength or power; being weak and feeble
- an inability (usually of the male animal) to copulate (wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn)
- an inability (usually of the male animal) to copulate (wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn)
- erectile dysfunction (en.wiktionary.org/wiki/impotence)
- the inability to achieve an erection, and/or dissatisfaction with the size, rigidity, and/or duration of erections (www.cure4diabetes.org/Glossary.htm)
- Mother Nature's way of saying, "No Hard Feelings." (www.springboard4health.com/notebook/dict_i.html) a.o.
There are many others, but we have a clear image now. What I found interesting is the large number of definitions where authors jump to classification of its origins - either blaming medical conditions (diabetes, cardiovascular leakage, nerve damage) or a horde of various factors like drug use, age or psychological factors. While there are probably mountains of research data backing causation and correlation, they all speak of what happens AFTER the condition is achieved and recognized as described. So I am suggesting we delay the conclusion and taking all this mambo-jambo seriously and go through a rigorous troubleshooting process - a no-nonsense, step by step, helping to identify a problem before suggesting a possible solution approach.
The following posts will focus on:
- How To Overcome Embarrassement through Frankness and Humour
- Where To Look for Help
- What Can You Safely Do on Your Own
- When To See a Doctor
Until then, I welcome you to the conversation - let me know what you think of the topic, what would you like to read about and everything else that crosses your mind, preferably on the topic.
